The Vocational Education in Allied Health program is designed to allow the allied health practitioner to develop skills as an educator in their field, while completing the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree.
The program provides the allied health practitioner with the vocational education skills required to implement instruction in their respective allied health fields. Emphasis is placed on instructing the adult learner and developing instructional strategies for both the traditional classroom and for distance learning.
This is a completion program which awards 36 credits for graduation from an associate level program in an allied health field, possession of a current unencumbered license, and/or certification/registration and a minimum of one year occupational experience. The candidate must be currently employed as a practitioner and/or educator in their field and have at least one year of occupational experience at the time of admission.
36 credits may be awarded for completion of the vocational core portion of the associate program. Additional general education classes may be transferred in as per Orion College’s transfer of credit policy. All upper-level core education credits and a minimum of 16 general education credits must be completed at Orion College.
